The 16th will be a TEAM RACE and the last week of racing.

New Computer System

If you raced last night (26th June) you'll have noticed we were running a new race program. It was a little hectic and we finished a lot later than usual- next week should run smoother as I become more familiar with the program. It was only installed on Wednesday afternoon!

You may have noticed that there was no heat board; don't worry, as soon as the new system has ran for a few weeks the heat board will return. It doesn't hook up to the new system yet.

If you put your name down for a personal transponder then you need to see Barry. You'll need £30 cash. Unfortunately, you'll have to pay upfront for the PT's and cash only. Race control has already got your PT number so you don't have to worry about that- just plug it in your car and you're ready. Unless of course you have Acoms gear. It seems that the Acoms receivers do not work with AMB personal transponders. That is, the spare battery socket on the receiver does not supply a voltage as with other makes. This can be overcome using a Y-lead enabling the PT to plug into the same servo lead as either your steering servo or ESC. The Y-leads have been ordered and will be here shortly.

Alternatively, you can solder a servo socket onto the lead of your steering servo or ESC. That way you are making your own Y-lead but it is the most awkward solution. You could always buy another receiver £17.99. But the Y-leads make the most sense.

Outdoor Karting

There will be an outdoor karting event (and barbeque) later in the year - plans are still to be finalised. Barry is hoping to organise the evening when it's still light at night; probably around the end of August or early September after people have returned from their hols.
