C&B Models Model Car Club - Rules and Procedures

Thank you for choosing to race at C&B Models Model Car Club. The aim of the club is to provide a friendly place for you to use your car and compete in a controlled racing environment.

In order for the night to run smoothly it is essential that everyone who race's follows certain rules and procedures. These are as follows :

Section 1 : Booking In

You need to book in before 6:45pm on the night of the race. If it is your first time then you will need to let race control know what crystals you have.

Section 2 : Your Car

There are two race classes: Stock (27 turn motor limit) and Super Touring (19 turn motor limit).

To avoid clashing frequencies, you will need at least 3 sets of crystals if you are on 27MHz and 3 sets if you are on 40MHz.

Please make sure that your car is in good condition and will not damage the carpet with any sharp edges. The carpet we use is expensive and is usually damaged by screw heads sticking out from the bottom of people's cars.

Interference is often a problem so it is important that you take the appropriate steps to avoid it. You will find it helpful to make sure that all your electrical connections are adequate and that you have at least 2 capacitors fitted to your motor.

Flat transmitter batteries or a damaged receiver wire a common cause of interference.

Every driver will be given a transponder ( unless you use a personal transponder ). This emits a signal that allows your laps to be counted to within 100th of a second. You will need an 8mm hole somewhere in your body shell so you can secure the transponder - it can be mounted on your chassis if you have room. In any case, it must not be mounted forward of the front body posts.

The location of the transponder is quite important. I would recommend that you fix it to your car away from the motor as this will reduce the chances of your laps miscounting.

Please remember to put the correct number on your car, preferably on the windscreen. This is so race control can see who is driving what car.

Section 3 : Marshalling

After you race you must marshal. You should stand on the marshalling point (if in use) that corresponds with your car number.

Please be careful when marshalling - it easy to damage cars with your feet as they are driving round.

Section 4 : Rules in the Hall

There is no smoking in the hall.

Please use the bin liners provided to put your rubbish in. And put your tables away at the end of the night.

Section 5 : General

Please make sure your transmitter is off unless you are racing. And do not take your transmitter over to the start line before the race as this may cause interference to other cars.

If your car needs attention during a race, you must leave your transmitter on the stage or have somebody bring the car to you. Do not mend your car on the track.

Please make sure that you bring your transponders back as soon as you have finished racing.

Section 6 : Race Fees

You must be a member of the BRCA for insurance purposes.

BRCA Membership : £8.00

C&B Models Model Car Club Membership : £6:00

Section 7 : Finally

Any help with putting the carpet and track markings out is very much appreciated and of course it all has to go away at the end!
